The so called male singing diva and former construction worker from Cavite, Marcelito Pomoy, took home a whooping cash prize of 2 million pesos.

Jovit Baldivino - PGT Season 1 Grand Winner

Congratulations to Jovit Baldivino. He is the very 1st Pilipinas Got Talent Grand Winner (PGT Season 1 Grand Winner). This win will really change his life (from siomai vendor to singing sensation) from now on.

Jovit Baldivino sang his winning piece "TOO MUCH LOVE WILL KILL YOU" by Queen. Jovit sang it in front of full pack Jovitnatics Araneta Coliseum last June 12, 2010 (Philippine Independence Day).

Well, in my personal opinion, there are lot of things that contributes to this huge success of Jovit. I will state those major points, that I think, makes Jovit Baldivino stands out.

First and foremost, pure talent and pure skills. From Jovit Baldivino's very first Pilipinas Got Talent appearance (during auditions), Jovit impressed the judges and the whole Philippines with his one of a kind and superb voice. As others say "We didn't know where his voice is coming from, it really sounds so good and so smooth!". Also, this just prove that first impressions last!

Secondly, his humble beginnings! Even with instant stardom after his first PGT appearance, Jovit remains as humble as he are. Not bragging anything at all!. Even though he knows how much his fans (here and abroad) loves him and supports him, he still gives out his best as if he was loosing the battle. I mean, total performance just like his first PGT stage appearance.

Third, his Charisma! Like what the PGT Judges says, Jovit Baldivino has great Charisma. Not all artist, singers and celebrities do have this kind of strong charisma with them. Feels like, Jovit has it all. Maybe, it was because of his great talent and humble personality.

Needless to say, Jovit deserves this PGT Season 1 title. Although, the 12 Grand Finalist are all deserving (and they are really talented, I can say that!), there should be only one to be chosen. Jovit Baldivino is the chosen one!

Congrats to Jovit Baldivino, congrats to his fans and supporters and congrats to his family to his well deserved title.

PGT Third Round Live Semi-Finals

The Pilipinas Got Talent Judges' Cull is over.Kris Aquino, Ai Ai delas Alas and Freddie “FMG” Garcia have already chosen the 36 contestants or acts that will compete for the PGT third round live semi-finals.

The 36 acts or semi finalists are chosen all throughout from NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The 17 contestants came from NCR and Luzon and 19 acts represents Visayas and Mindanao.

Those 36 third round semi finalist contestants are separated or divided into groups of six that will perform live in front of a studio audience. Six contestants will outperform each other out weekly and only two of the 6 contestants can advance to the final round.

This Saturday, May 1, 2010, which is Labor Day, Jovit Baldivino, Ruther Urquia, Jhistine and Filemon Baguio, Snap Boiz, Xavier University Cultural Dance Troupe and Rolando Permangil will battle each other out for the 2 Pilipinas Got Talent finals slot allotted for them.

The May 1 Live Semi-Finals will be held at AFP Theater, Camp Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, and the May 2 Live Semi-Finals will be held at ABS-CBN Dolphy Theater (Studio 1).

Pilipinas Got Talent continues to look for the first PGT grand winner. While on their quest, the PGT judges was wowed and amazed by a performance of a band/group called EZRA band. Showtime is an ABS-CBN morning variety show which premiered October 24, 2009, replacing the long-running Philippine game show, Pilipinas, Game KNB?.

Jose Marie "Vice Ganda" Viceral is a very talented Filipino stand up comedian.

I think she was a nice addition on the Pilipinas Got Talent show.

Jose Javier Reyes, on the other hand, is a Filipino writer, director and actor. He already won several awards and directed award winning movies as well as TV shows. He is a kind of "serious" person, I may say.

We've seen him on several shows and contests as a judge. He often gives nice insights and truthful thoughts about the talents being shown by the contestants.

Kris Aquino Backs Out As A Pilipinas Got Talent Show Judge.

Television host-actress Kris Aquino has turned down an offer to be one of the judges of ABS-CBN’s "Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT)” to have more time with her family.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Aquino said being part of PGT entails “so much travel,” which in effect will cut down whatever time she has for her 2 sons, Josh and Baby James, and husband, cager James Yap.

Aquino is already swamped with work. Aside from hosting “The Buzz” and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” she is also taping every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for her upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye.

“Nakaka-uwi ako 4 to 5 in the morning from the soap. Tapos Tuesday, Thursday before lunch hindi ako mapakinabangan,” she said.

“’Yong mga kids hinahanap talaga ako. And even if James is not complaining, parang sabi niya, 2 weeks pa lang ang taping, ‘Gaano katagal nga ba yan?’” she added.

Aquino said she already discussed her decision to channel head Cory Vidanes. She added that “there will be other judges who are even better than me.”

“Sabi ko, ‘I don’t have to be selfish. Hindi kailangan na bawat show na i-offer niyo sa akin, akin na.’ Sabi ko, ‘Sorry, it’s a decision for my kids and for my health,’” she said.

She admitted that it was a hard decision, but she said she had to make that choice.

PGT is a reality television series patterned after the popular “Britain’s Got Talent (BGT)” and “America’s Got Talent.”

Similar to other “Got Talent” series, the Philippine version of the talent show will also feature singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers from all ages.

It will be hosted by actor-host Luis Manzano and international Filipino artist Billy Crawford.

But still it needs further confirmation as we all know, wikipedia is an open website wherein anybody can change or alter its content.

Here is the Pilipinas Got Talent Registration Audition Guidelines as per posted on the Pilipinas Got Talent official Facebook page.

Please take note and always remember the following guidelines, as they may increase your chance of entering and becoming one of the contestants at the "Pilipinas Got Talent" show.

1). Please come dressed to impress and be aware that due to the huge response we may not be able to see the whole of your performance. Please be prepared to showcase the best bit of your act, don't hold back!

2). You need to audition the part of your act that's going to show Philippines that you've got talent. You only get one audition. Make sure you impress us!

3). You must provide everything you will need for your own act. We will NOT be able to provide you with anything (eg pianos, amps etc).

4). Should your act include a child aged 15 years or younger and you have been allocated an audition during school time, please call us on 02 415 8766 and we will move it to a slot after school hours.

5). There are no formal changing facilities so you will need to arrive dressed as you wish for your audition.

6). As there is a limited time for the audition you will need to prepare as much as you can in advance. If you think you will need considerable time to set up (such as illusionists, high wire etc) then please contact us on 02 415 8766.

7). As we need to adhere to Health & Safety guidelines please warn us in advance if your act contains any dangerous aspects on the number above.

SINGERS:
Please prepare a verse and a chorus; you may sing either a capella or with a backing track. However if you do wish to sing to a track you must be able to provide us with the title of the track and who wrote it.

BANDS/MUSICIANS:
Please be aware that no instruments are provided. As there is limited audition time we will not be able to allow setup of large instruments like drums etc. You can bring any small instruments with minimal setup (ie guitars, flute, keyboards etc) and audition as usual.
Bands and those musicians who use drums and any other large setup items must bring along a video or DVD of your performance. Please pick your best performance to put on the video and bring this along with you as your audition. The whole band should come dressed in their performance outfits.

COMEDIANS/VENTRILOQUISTS/DANCERS/MAGICIANS/JUGGLERS etc:
As you will have limited time please prepare the best part of your routine. If you act requires music please bring a CD copy, along with the title of the track and who wrote it.

ANIMAL ACTS:
You must inform us first that you are bringing animals, telling us the amount and type of animals. This includes any dangerous animals (lions, snakes, elephant�s etc) Hotline number: 02 415 8766.

ALL animals brought must be either CAGED or on a LEAD.

TALL/UNSAFE ACTS:
Please let us know the requirements for your act in terms of how much space / height you will need. We would also need advance warning of any equipment considered unsafe. Please call the hotline number to go through your performance.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Filipino singer Madonna Decena, who rose to fame when she became one of Britain Got Talent’s semi-finalists, will be part of the show’s primer.

"Isang malaking blessing iyan kasi it would open doors sa lahat ng Filipinos na vey talented pero hindi pa nadi-discover sa Pilipinas," Decena said in a phone interview.

Madonna Decena said she feels honored to be part of the talent show.

"Masarap ang feeling na kahit paano magiging part ako ng, I guess, isa sa pinakamalaking talent show sa Pilipinas. So, sa lahat ng mga sasali, give [your] best. Sigurado na it’s life changing for them. And also have fun," Decena said.

Madonna Decena, who is now in the country as the newest addition to Manny Pacquiao’s roster of talents, shared that her life changed for the better after joining BGT.

She said: "It was really a nice experience. And nandiyan na lahat iyong recognition sa iyo at sa mga Filipino din kasi siyempre international din. I hope it will [have] the same impact din sa mga sasali…. Manalo o matalo, it’s okay. What matters is naipakita mo kung ano ang meron ka.”

ABS-CBN won the rights for airing of the "Got Talent" franchise; the Pilipinas Got Talent. So, people are excited to witness and watch how the show will go. But there are still some questions that needs answers.

Among those questions is "Who will be hosting the Pilipinas Got Talent show?". Rumors says, it could be Ryan Agoncillo, since, Ryan is a kapamilya star and his hosting prowess is shown and proved at Talentadong Pinoy.

But it turn out to be totally wrong. Kris Aquino has been chosen to host the Pilipinas Got Talent show. Kris Aquino is very well known for her hosting skills that she shown at some franchised show like Deal or No Deal, Wheel of Fortune, and Pinoy Bingo Night. And now, Kris Aquino will be hosting the "greatest show on Earth"; the Pilipinas Got Talent.
